Dam that really does suck. How would i fix the rings on the lpc? Were do the rings connect too? I was looking at a picture of the lpc and i cant tell were they connect too. I guess i should i stick with softmod and let somebody eles install the chip. Next time I will do that. Is it a impossible fix for a really good modder? And do you think he will charge me alot to do the repair?

If you look at this picture you can see the connections to the rings on the LPC (Silver round each hole).
These rings are also connected through the board to the opposite side.

Thanks Chancer.. Man only if u was in the USA i would send you my stuff to get it repaired and for you to install my chip. It would probably be alot to get it shipped to the UK.

Do you think i can put some wire to make a new ring? An then solder add alittle solder?

If you clean the whole area with a fibreglass pen (Radio shack should sell them real cheap)
You can reinsert the pin header and solder some 30 awg kynar wire from the adjacent print track to the corresponding pin on the pin header. You would also need to wire the top points the same to ensure connection is both sides.
There should be someone nearer to where you are located that can repair this and fit your chip ate the same time. many of the people in the Modchip installer section do this sort of thing and the cost would not be too high.

no offense but if you can't solder the header without thrashing the traces what makes you think you can repair them? The repair process is easily 10x harder than soldering the header in the first place.

I've been soldering for the last 8 years or so. I can install a pin header in my sleep and I'm not even sure I could reliably re-build an LPC without a little luck.
