Re-follow the process you took to install the softmod originally.

If you used a softmod autoinstaller via an exploited save game, and it refuses to work, it should at least give you FTP access so you can restore your backup.

Do not unplug your X-Box from the mains power. If it goes without for a couple of hours, it'll forget the time and refuse to boot game discs until you find some other way to repair the dashboard.

If all this doesn't help, provide more information - The correct X-Box version and the method you used to install the softmod are good starting points.

You can't delete the C with a softmod and expect it to work with just avalaunch on it. A softmodded box NEEDS the xboxdash.xbe file, if you wanna just install a dash to the C without the xboxdash.xbe, consider flashing the TSOP(1.0-1.5) or installing a chip.

Yeah, I missed that he wiped the saves.

Anyway, before this gets bumped too much I should point out that the guy messaged me over MSN and I walked him through a fix.
