First thing you will need is a IDE to Laptop adapter, most laptop HD's do not take standered IDE. Once you have thisdone you need an IDE cable with another head, you can make one or buy one premade(unless you plan to not use the DVD drive period....). Then you need to use a switch to go from your first HD to your Laptop one.

For the placement if you have a flat dvd drive then you could use some adhesive to stick it to the bottem, but placement is really up to you

To setup a laptop HD is simply like setting up a normal hard drive. I would recommend using a slayers disc for the setup.
