US Getting White PlayStation 3? SCEA Responds

The Ceramic White PS3 unit is currently only available in Japan, having been released in the region on November 11, 2007, although filings submitted with the Federal Communications Commission indicate that is soon to change.

Sony Computer Entertainment America told Next-Gen via email that it was happy with the existing PS3 models on the market.
"As you may know, there are many FCC filings like this each year. We haven't made any announcements about upcoming PS3 plans, but are comfortable with our current two sku strategy."

However, the statement went on to add, "We are continually evaluating the market trends and consumer input to determine the appropriate PS3 models for our territory."

can't fault them for trying to be more like their competitors... though I can't imagine the color of the console has much to do with it's success/failure.

if I ever buy a PS3 though it will be black... I really don't like white/grey consoles they stick out in the dark

I am the opposite, I have my Xbox360 on a shelf right below my Xbox1 on my stand. And I have to say that I considerably prefer the white colour of the Xbox360 to that of the black Xbox1.

So I for one am somebody looking forward to the White/Silver PS3's and would buy one of these over the black.

I hate the white, it looks incredibly generic, especially on the 360 with the gray parts.
