Can't Connect To Network

Well, I have my xbox up in my room and I have it connected to a hub which is connected to the modem downstairs. When I try to use MS dash to connect it gives me various messages such like Can't find DNS and a few other that I can't remember at the moment and my xbox isn't working to test. Any help here?

If the X-Box is using static settings, then it's ignoring any DHCP services that may be on your network. Try setting it to "automatic".

If that doesn't work, check that the DNS address the console is trying to use is correct.
