I'm in the fortunate situation where I get to make that decision... and I'm programming for ps3 first 360 second.

Any chance you can say why you prefer it that way or does that fall under NDA territory?

That is very interesting. Can you explain why?

QUOTE
As a console the ps3 is extremely highly priced... so high in fact that its hurting its adoption rate and in general harming the industry.

QUOTE
This will change with time but right now the ps3 is barely a viable business entity...

If you believe the above why would you do the following,

QUOTE
I'm in the fortunate situation where I get to make that decision... and I'm programming for ps3 first 360 second.

I have read your posts at XBOX-Scene & don't doubt you have large amount of knowledge. I'm just giving my point of view & possibly I'll find answers to my questions.

Whether or not I develop for ps3 is NOT my choice, I don't own the company nor do I drive policy, I am a programmer. Thus whether or not ps3 makes money is not something I am directly concerned with in my daily work.

That said I like programming for ps3 because it is a challenge and it pays off in 99% of cases.

Why I develop for ps3 first, 360 second has been explained many times... the crux of it is... code designed to run fast on SPU for ps3 runs quick on 360. The opposite is not true.

This would seem to say that YOU MAKE THE CHOICE, unless I can't read.

He is not contradicting himself in any way...In the first quote he is saying that he is fortunate that he is able to choose himself which console he wants to code for first....The key word is FIRST. He never in there said he would like to code just for the ps3 and not work on the 360, he just prefers to work on the ps3 first and 360 second(for reasons he mentioned in his last post).

Please correct me if im understanding what you said wrong m_hael  smile.gif

PC developers do find the Xbox 360 easier to code for, because the 360, and if you remember, the original Xbox, are both based on Direct X technology. None of you (except for m_hael) even develop anything for either system. Ubisoft are full of excellent talent, so of course they are not going to say its hard to code for. Smaller/lazier/less talented developers are going to have a harder time with the PS3. I can't see how anyone can even argue that.

Well, apparently, programming for something you do not know as well as something you do isn't harder, it's just... different. cool.gif

m_hael are you working on Marvel Fighter for EA Chicago?

Was watching Gametrailers.com Game Head's world premiere of EA Chicago’s new Marvel fighting game.

http://www.gametrail...ayer/24423.html

With exclusive first in-game footage running on the 360.

Looks pretty nice a year out from release.
