I'm sure if they said they chose black because they wanted a 'darker' feel to it, we'd get the same typical negative comments 'its black like the devil, which is what sony is!'

price is probably the reason for the choice of black, it's the cheapest color

i also think that price is one of the reasons for using the font.  they already paid for the IP of the font and they knew from the beginning that the ps3 was going to be an expensive console to produce so they may have taken that into great consideration.  it would be cheaper to use a font they already own instead of using somoene elses font or creating a new one just for the ps3

sony owns the rights to the movie and everything associated with it, not so much the rights to the IP spiderman itself

The first thing the people think of when hearing the name Microsoft is usually Windows OS, people usually automatically link Windows to Microsoft. When they hear Playstation, they don't think Spiderman.

I really don't care that the font is from Spiderman, the font isn't what makes a console. Even us Xbox lovers know that.

 i kind of agree with you, the font IMO looks shit, even if its spidermans lol, i also hate the look of ps3's, it really does look like a george forman grill tbh!

still the ps3 might come out better but over here a hell of a lot of ps3s are still unsold, nowhere i saw a huge crowd and i can see signs in shops sayin ps3 still in stock, maybe they hated the font and shell lol or maybe the £425 price tag ( about $700+)
