Hardware Sales Reactions: Sony: "According to NPD data, February 2007 showed a 67% increase in retail dollars generated year-over-year for SCEA in the US with total sales of $377 million. With this increase, the PlayStation brand remained the number-one revenue driver for the month in the industry owning 38.5% of total sales. On the retail front, SCEA continues to work hard to stabilize supply for PS3 and PS2 across North America. A short month was reflected in PS3 and PSP sales figures over January, while PS2 continues to perform above expectations, down just 4.3% from last year. PS2 dominated software sales for the industry, generating $111 million in revenue.

Yeah it probably will, since the wii is probably going to be the ipod of gaming where people will go out and buy it and play it once or twice and brag about how cool it is and put pictures of it up on myspace. You get what i mean.

I have had a wii since launce and i don't really play it very much. Wii sports and wii play is cool but gets old very quickly. I had red dragon and that game was so awfull as is any game that doesn't work well with the wii mote.

My preference is still my 360, games that i like great graphics and a good controler, i play it ten times more than any other console i have, and i have pretty much all of them.

My daughter still plays the WII though and she likes it, although she is playing it less as time goes on. It is fun to break out when the family is over, hell my 82 year old grandma picked up the controller and was able to play wii sports and that is pretty cool.

I think the wii will dominate for a while because it is the in thing, is cheap, and has a couple of cool games but it will fade out over time.

There are only so many versions of wii sports out there.

I hear you on the Wii, mlmadmax.  I bought one at midnight on launch day and I'm still waiting for something to play beyond Zelda and Wii Sports.   There have been a few games I've been mildly interested in, like SSX Blur, but nothing that has really made me want to buy it.  Mostly because most of the games are getting such mediocre ratings.  The new Paper Mario game is likely the next game I'll purchase for the Wii, other than that I'm not really sure.  I am fairly surprised that the sales have kept going so strong this long, I guess the price has a lot to do with that.  But like you I kind of expect the Wii to fade.  Maybe it won't.... but my interest started to fade pretty quickly.
