I agree with you guys. When I had my PS3 I thought it was much better than the 360... until i went to gamefly to rent some games. There are none that i am interested in... none!

I think ur missing the point here. His point was that ppl need to ADMIT that the system is nothing great RIGHT NOW and also admit that you only bought it for future possibilities and not for current killer apps. Sure ppl buy systems as an investment for the future but smart ppl dont make that the ONLY reason for buying it. They buy it for something great thats out now with hopes that greatness will follow. The only system I ever bought out of potential alone is the psp, and we all know how that turned out

you are spending ALOT of money on this system and honestly if it was cheap I wouldve bought it on potential alone but its $600!!! Thats my hard earned cash your talking about! You need to show me hard evidence that this system is worth that much money (through software, ofcourse and none of this blu ray/linux crap! its a game console for god sakes!)

How about atleast great software that covers all genres? Tons of killer apps to choose from and a steady flow of great games in the pipeline. More compelling online play and features....im not even gonna say anymore because all  u have to do is play the damn thing or read any gaming site on you'll get ur answer.

Why does this have to be a flame war, I just wanted to say its a nice system at least from my view point. The media capabilities are awesome I can ftp all my videos to the hdd. The hdd is upgradeable the graphics are on par with 360. Online play is free the games are coming to but I would rather wait for a triple A title instead of some rushed garbage. So mods please lock this thread or put some new rules in place blocking these stupid 4 paragraph post bashing a system in its respective forum.

Yeah, i mean the system is still a greenie. What did the 360 come out with that made it amazing? I didnt buy a 360 until November when GOW came out.

The games that I play on the 360 are Rainbow 6 Vegas, GOW, and Ghost Recon AWF

The PS3 does not have anything out that makes me want to shell out $600. But maybe one day when you can mod it, or when the new MGS comes out I will invest in one.

The 360 launch with some awesome and great games like Call of Duty 2, Condemned: Criminal Origins, and Project Gotham Racing 3; plus some not as wonderful but worth picking up titles like Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, and Gun. PLUS some that came out later after launch like Fight Night Round 3, Oblivion, Dead Rising, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

i put a lot of negativity on the ps3 around here but even throughout my harsh words, i still like the console. the reality is that there is nothing to do on it and really nothing coming up. motorstorm is a bust, heavenily sword doesn't appeal to me, etc, etc. i could go down the list but no reason. also i don't think resistance is the killer app a lot of people claim it to be. it is truly a subpar shooter. i think it is even worse than the original halo, which is bad. but then again, i'm a UT '99 whore and to me there aren't many (if any) FPS that are better than UT '99. that game has replay value like crazy.

when i look at my ps3, i think seclusion. i feel alone when i turn it on. everyone on my friend's list is never on and even if they were i don't have a headset for it. the playstation store lacks cool things like demos for their "arcade" games. and just the sense of lack of unity makes me not want to play it.

when i look at my 360, i think friends, online games, talking smack and the whole community that goes with it. xbox live is what makes the 360 great and, is probably the only thing that makes the 360 great. with rumors floating around about hdmi and a larger hdd on the 360, the ps3 is quickly losing any extra features it has over the 360.

however, if i didn't own a 360 and just got a ps3. i would be pretty happy with it and i could see where a lot of ps3 owners come from in most of their arguments. but, i've seen the other side and i know the great connected experience i get with the 360, which makes me turn the other way to my ps3 and wii.

exactly, people who look at the PS3 and think it's something extra-spectacular usually haven't given a second glance at a 360.
Same with the wii, though it is better than the PS3, people are buying them everywhere just because it's cooland hip and because they think the competition lacks in innivation. If those people were to play a game like dead rising, condemned, gears of war, or even xboxlive arcade games like roboblitz for the 360, they would realize just as much innovation(if not more) has gone into 360 games as they have with the wii controller.

In this present day, halo 1 wouldn't be very high rated, but it came out in 2001 and it was awesome. I don't know if you are saying that resistance is bad because a game 5 years old is better, or that halo was bad in the first place.
