Hats Off To Sony's Top Notch Customer Service
« on: December 09, 2006, 08:15:00 AM »

Well a little over a week after getting the PS3 it died on me. For some reason the USB ports stopped working.

After contacting Sony by phone they agreed that the console will need replaced. I have to give it to Sony for employing good English speaking tech people who actually know what they are talking about.

They have top notch repair and replacement going for them. On 12-6 I called Sony to inform them of my PS3 USB ports not working. On 12-7 I received a box from UPS shipped from Texas to put my PS3 in to ship back to Texas. Now on 12-9 I receive my new PS3 at 10am in the morning. That is 3 days total to get a replacement console.

Over the last few weeks I have read nothing but bad news and nonstop trashing of the Playstation 3 and some of it is valid but you earn my respect for customer service.

P.S. I am just glad that I had controlled my urges and not taking the PS3 apart to play with the insides before it died on me.

Wow, MS with a unlimited supply of consoles takes 6 weeks to replace a broken console. And here Sony who can't even supply more then 400 000 conoles worldwide, manages to send out a replacement in 3 days.

The hat is off

It's been the experience of those that I know who've had failed 360s to be quoted a turnaround time of two weeks, and to receive their replacement systems well within that timeframe.

How about some link(s) to where it's taken 6 weeks to have consoles replaced by MS...

I got my 360 back in 4 days, my friend on the other hand it took 4 weeks for his. (not to mention his new one died in a week after getting it back) hes still yet to get his next one back and its been about a week and half so far

Im hoping i wont need to call sony, but altho that would make it 3/3 for me for next gen consoles, my 360 died, my Wii died (2days for a new one), and well, my ps3 is sitting in its box till christmas.
