They probably didn't reduce the res on the PS3 versions of TH8 & COD3 because of sony's issues with scaling. Nothing gets scaled up unless a scaler is built into the TV, right? So they would be running at 420p on most HDTV's.
You mean 720p. And i'm willing to bet that the resolution of THP8 and CoD3 are the same or both the 360 and PS3.

We all know the x360 version looks and runs better and have some extra graphics added on but that doesn't take away from the fact that if P8 had been 720p on the x360 it wouldn't have been playable at all. So all I wanna know is where did they go wrong, how could they have ended up with a game that wouldn't play in 720p.
Nobody ever said that if THP8 was running in full 720p then it wouldn't be playable, it would just have some framerate issues. That being said, it doesn't mean that the 360 nor the PS3 aren't capable of running something at full 720p.

Or did Neversoft by some freakish idea decide to make the 360 games in lower resolutions right from the start and thereby break the forced 720p MS promised its consumers.
At least the 360 can upscale, which makes a difference. Every game made on the 360 can be upscaled to 720p(at least)
