connect it to your network and go to your dhcp client table.
Well that isn't really feasable. First off, there are literally tens of thousands of devices connected to our network. It would be nearly impossible to go through the client table and pick out every single console, identify, and register it. Secondly, the device must be linked to a student's user ID in order to be registered. So, even if we were to find all the consoles on the table, it would be impossible to know who it belongs to.
I'll explain the way we have it set up with the previous consoles.
We have online directions on how to find the MAC address of your device (PS2, Xbox, 360 ect...) which you then enter on an online registration form which gets sent to our administrator who in turn approves the additional device request which allows the device to use our network resources.
Basically, I just need someone to tell me how to find the MAC of the two new consoles so I can help dorm students find it when they call to ask how to get their console online, and eventually set up online directions for them.
Thanks for any help
