Here we go with this mythical 2nd shipment bullcrap. I remember people that preordered x360's from Gamestop waiting for the 2nd shipment for months on end.

Meanwhile Gamestop has enought supply after launch to make special bundles that sell at premium price. Why do people still buy from stores like these?

Ya, I was one of the first to get a pre-order at gamestop for a 360.  They told me that they thought it would take months to fill all the pre-orders they took.  Not really surprised that the same thing is happening with PS3

Toys "R" Us PS3 preorders assured
Retailer confirms that it will be able to honor reservations for Sony's new system, but has no stock for walk-ins; Wii supplies will be more abundant.

Earlier today, specialty retailer GameStop told GameSpot that it would be unable to fulfill all of its PlayStation 3 preorders on launch day. Now a Toys "R" Us representative has confirmed some news that will reassure its own preorder customers, and give jilted GameStop customers one less place to consider camping out for a system on day one.

"We have enough [PS3 systems] to cover presells and that's it," the representative said bluntly.

Last month, Toys "R" Us opened up preorders for the PS3 and the Wii, filling up its allotment for both systems in short order. But while the retailer will just barely have enough PS3s to cover those commitments, Nintendo's new console is another matter. The representative said all of the company's stores will have some extra Wii systems to sell to people without preorders.

Sony has previously committed to releasing 400,000 PS3s in North America for launch, while Nintendo has said it "expects to sell 4 million Wii consoles globally by the end of 2006, with the largest allotment available in the Americas."

I'm only getting 1 out of 2 on the pre-order.  I was number 9 and 10 on the list and they are getting 8 at my local store.  So someone in line before me decided not to get one.

OH NOES SONY FAN BOYS JUST GOT OWNED

Why because BB and Walmart have more pull when it comes to console allocations?

My brother called up last night and he was told he would get his PS3 come friday.  He was 1st in line and paid in full.

I work at a EB Games on the Eastern coast.  We had 16 reserves all in the form of PS3 60gb.  We are receiving only 8 60gb PS3 and 2 20Gb PS3.  My wife and I payed for ours in full in the fisrt week of the reserve, but EBGames/Gamestop Employee policy says customers get theirs first so we got bumped to the second shipment, god knows when.

I am waiting one week after launch and if not, i'll cancel my reserve.  With the Wii and plenty of 360 games out there there is no rush from my part in getting the PS3.

So screw sony... I'll prolly just get the hd-dvd addon for the 360...

A buddy of mine was #3 in line, I was number 4. I was told they had enough to cover us , but we wont get ours until the second shipment as the first shipment will be going to "Loyal customers, People who already paid in full, and the people who bought bigger bundles".
Why even have a line then? I was told not to worry that mine should be here by christmas. What a joke.
This was at a store in Wa. I called another store and they were going to be filling launch day reservations in the order that the systems were reserved. Wow looks like I just picked a Crappy store to buy at.
The whole "Loyal Customer" thing pisses me off. Could they be more unfair. I guess the employees friends will be getting them.
