Actually the Sony NBA 07 game did look quite a bit crisper than the rest of the sports games displayed.

The game is actually fun to play but I don't see the defensive player control being on the level of the other Bball games out now.

If you like to just play for fun this is the game for you.

I was never a fan of the PSP's interface and the PS3's is exactly like it. It is user friendly and scrolls quickly. The feel of it to me has always been a quick and dirty interface. IMO it could be done a lot better.
I like the 360's interface better because it just feels to me more polished.

The 2k games are "EXACTLY" the same as what you have on the 360. I noticed horrible jaggies with just the player characters. When in motion there also seem to be some white specs flickering at times around the player like "noise".

The six-axis movement on the controller can be a nice option. It can also be just a gimmick that should be done with a regular button push. In call of duty 3 you turn the controller left then quickly right to butt.

I mean it was nice but a button push to do the same thing is just as good to me.

The loss of the rumble did make a difference to me. You will miss feeling explosions happening around you because you don't FEEL them. The loss of this feature takes away some of the immersion you had connecting to these games.

The load times between games was not bad at all but I did not get to see the system start up so I can not give an opinion on how long a game takes to get to the main menu.

Motor storm was a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGE disappointment to me. That game plays in slow motion. I could not believe how slow it played.

thanks for the info Jim!!  im surprised about both you and your cousin talking about a lot of the stuff being "painted" on in R:FoM since every preview praised it to be a graphical wonder.

very nice write-up  pop.gif

One thing that cracks me up is that Sony is so busy pushing 1080p and having to use 1080p televisions I bet a lot of the games, well all except one I think could have looked better with a native 720p resolution television. That may account for some of the jaggies on a lot of the games.

If you are running anything out of an LCD's native resolution regardless of how good the TV is all of the bad points of whatever it is you are watching will be amplified.

If Sony was smart they would have shown the games on a TV more closely matching the games native resolution with the exception of the one game that was in 1080p. They are s busy pushing something that doesn't matter and it is hurting them.

Aside from that the performance was on par with what I would expect from all the tidbits of info I have read over the past few months. I am still getting a ps3 for games that are exclusive, but as far as multiplatform games I am 360 all the way. The way I see it the 360 controller is better and the games are at the same quality.

Also thanks for taking the time to write a review

One thing that isn't touched upon as much in most x360 ps3 comparisons is that the ps3 launch games DOES look better then the x360 launch games.

It is not touched on because the PS3, and games for it, have not been released yet.

Because its a moot point. It would be totally unfair to make that comparison because the ps3 games got alot more development time than 360 launch titles. Another thing is that the technology and technological know-how that was being used for the the 360 launch are a bit premature in comparison. Alot of those games were ports of last gen games. The ps3 on the other hand are getting next gen ports. Another point is that some of these devs were developing these games with the idea that the launch would be march but it got delayed, giving them more time.

Usually when your making comparisons, u want to put each subject under the same terms and conditions.

incongnegro is dead on.  games on the ps3 have had more dev time with final hardware/near final hardware, its not plagued with last gen ports, the ps3 actually benefits from all that was learned and developed the last year on the 360, and games themselves have evolved in the time.

sorry fetus but that comparison has little ground to stand on.

Let me clarify what I mean.

The ps3 does have a more impressive launch in terms of games but it also had a year longer of game developers working on next gen technology to port over to it.

If they were on equal ground you would still be seeing equal games.

The PS3 did not display ANYTHING that we have not seen already.

The ultimate judgement will come two or three years from now.

Bottom Line is this....

If you have a 360 and Sony's first party games are not a system seller to you.... stick with your 360 it's the same SHHHHH

Really don't want to get involved in this, but XBANDGUY did agree.

Yes, but not in the same way and clarified it:
