Connections now determine if a console is next gen?! So in all the years of gaming, even though people thought they were getting a next-gen saturn, ps1, n64, dreamcast(upgrades from snes, genesis and so on), those were not considered next gen because they all still had composite? One company supplies Component cables which output 720p/1080i, while the other does TRUE HD(LOL) and supplies composites??

I don't know how you could consider Wii Sports a tech demo without having played the thing, just because it makes good use of the controller doesn't make it a tech demo...

yup, your thoughts, which, btw, are wrong . your trying to say that the connections are what makes it last gen? ive had a gig lan for about 4 years now on my pc - and i can honestly say it was the biggest waste of money ever. and hdmi? barely anyone will use it, and the 360 displays resolutions far above last gen in anycase, which suggests a 'next gen' status: except in your view. - this makes you seem narrow minded, not others.

I never said the console itself was last gen, only its connections. Inside the hood the x360 is a monster no question. And you are also mixing my two comparison into one, the first was for the x360 to match ps3 "features" the second was least money to put up for a game and console, wich in the last requires no internet at all. I'm not sure how it is in your region, but here flat-tvs is the only tvs sold anymore and they are all but a few hd-ready or hd-compatible, both these labels requires a hdmi, or atleast a dvi. HDMI will be IMO the next scart.

On as far as the me and 360 goes it won't happen, atleast not until they release atleast 2-4 must have games that are exclusives. My first sigth is on the Wii, and with the wii I intend to search out every GC i have been drooling over (zelda,metroid,re4). Not until that is all done with, I intend to get the ps3. The reason with the ps3 is equal to the Wii, I intend to get the ps2 games that I missed (FF,GOW, ICO 1-2).

Thats a great way to do things, but as far as "must have exclusives" most of the time you can't really say if they're a must have title until you play them. Logic would say that these would be new titles, because if they were a frachise title you felt that way about would have already picked up an Xbox 1. So how would you know?

If I had a dollar for everytime I played a game and LOVED it after watching trailers, reading reviews, and sometimes demos and came away thinking the game sucked... well I could probably afford a PS3  

Also I'm curious what kinds of games you're actually interested in that you can't find must have exclusives on the 360 that interest you.

now that i think about it me too.  IMHO, the 360 has just about every genre covered or will be covered with a high quality title.

I do own a xbox1 as I stated earlier. Here is a list of games played:

Great games I acctually managed to finish:

Fable LC
Ninja Gaiden
PoP SoT
Beyond good and evil
DoA (2p)

Good Games I got bored with and still haven't finished:

Burnout 3-4
Forza
Strangers Wrath
Psychonauts
Splinter cell
Jade Empire

Did try out some more games but they all lost me 1 hour in or so. With the x360 I haven't seen one finished title yet that I wish wasn't just made for the x360. This might change with alan wake, blue dragon and lost odessey.

What the xbox1 and the 360 lack so far is the high quality typical japanse games.
Any descent Jap rpg (I know two might be coming), the Action games (RE,DMC,GoW,ICO,MGS,DC, Metroid. Megaman) ZELDA.

The ps1 was the console I played the most game on. Probably managed to cover 80% of all the RPG ever made for that one and OMG was that some sweet sweet games (chrono cross,xenogears,ff7,8,9 Vagrant Story). Has more then 100 games for it.

As you might see I don't like fps, Strangers wrath sucked me in cos of the abeverse. And yes xbox has most genres but most games just feel like cheap americanized knockoffs.

Perhaps you'd be interested in Enchanted Arms,  Ninety Nine Nights, Dead Rising, Condemned, Kameo, or DOA4.

None of them are American made titles, Traditional Japanese RPG, Japanese Action/RPG, Action, Survival Horror, Adventure, and Fighting respectively. With the exception of Tecmo and the DOA series they're all development teams who are new to the 360.

Of course Burnout (4) Revenge, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent are already out.

And coming soon there is also Forza 2, Mass Effect (same people who did Jade Empire), Fable 2, and of course Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey which you already mentioned.

Oh and Project Sylpheed which is an exclusive Square Enix title that has already been released in Japan and should be coming state side shortly. There is also Bullet Witch and Lost Planet, coming soon-ish, again Japanese developed games, already out in Japan coming to the rest of the world sometime soon.

The Xbox 1 was a very different beast... I agree there were hardly any Japanese style games on the Xbox 1, it's the only reason I kept a PS2 around, there really wasn't anywhere else to get those types of games. But the 360 has it's fair share of Japanese Style games, and more coming too.

Yup it looks like they are trying to deversify the x360. But since its BC won't have a bite on me I'm gonna stick with getting the Wii first and then the ps3, and when I'm done with all those games the xbox5000 will be out so I'll just get that one if it has BC, or by then Google probably owns everyone and releases a console where you can search through and play every game ever made

What you're really saying is that you're just using any excuse possible not to buy one.

You own an Xbox. Why would BC hold you back from buying a 360? From what you said you weren't all that impressed with the Xbox lineup anyway, so to add this as a factor is a non sequitur. What I will say is the games which are BC have been improved over their Xbox counterparts (including the FPS issues with Forza Motorsport).

Are you aware that even the PS3 FAQ pages state the PS3 won't be 100% BC?

Could you please just complete the following phrase in an honest manner: "I won't buy a 360 because.."

Back on topic, after the Sony / Lik-Sang fiasco I think they should be concentrating on their own products by publishing less spin (ie this so called *fact* sheet) and instead concentrating on trying to win back the consumers who will ultimately boycott their products. Sony have really lost the plot over the PS3.

.. I already played the games on the xbox therefore BC is useless for me. Wii and ps3 are both two or more consoles in one (this means a hell of alot of NEW games for me). I prefer the games released for the jap consoles. As nickthegreat said if you don't like fps xbox360 isn't exactly the first console you'll look at.

I took this as meaning you were avoiding the 360 because of it's [lack of] BC. If I got the wrong end of the stick then fine: I'll hold my hands up to it.

There are plenty of non-FPS games already out on the 360 - GOOD non-fps games. I'm sure you know this already though....
