I just want one because my newest system is my wonderful little xbox. But I wanna play some boxing and football in nice nice high-def. That and I missed the boat on the 360, so I plan on buying a couple of these and selling 'em off and making my money back so I can keep one for myself! If that works out lol. Plus, can you imagine final fantasy on this? makes me wet myself just imagining.

I have pretty much the same reasons. If I can sell enough of these to defray the cost of my own I'll probably get one. Also, I'm interested to see if any linux based homebrew will find its way to the system. Not to mention the stated ease of upgrading the hard drive. But we'll see, my 360 gets very jealous about other devices stealing its tv time  


And to the OP, your topic title has the the word "Opinion" in it yet you state in your very first sentence that this thread is only for people who are excited about the PS3. I won't argue with you as I don't want the thread to be closed but other people might find your contradictory comments antagonizing

i will try to get my hands on one if not two at launch day so i can sell them on ebay (or anyplace actually).  if the 360 can get $1k-$3k cash, then i wonder how much the ps3 can get.  $$ =    < more $$ for gaming, maybe ill get another HDTV.

I would like to have one when they come out with the games I like. If it's a strong release line up, which I honestly don't see happening, I will buy it on day one. I certainly look forward to DMC4, Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 4, any NON-Final Fantasy SquareEnix rpg, and tons of other stuff. Also pretty interested in Heavenly Blade from what I saw at E3. For me it's all about the GAMES and not the specs. I actually have no interest in the BluRay player aspect that everybody seems to be worked up on. I am almost certain that I will get one, I just don't know when.

I'm not a big fan of the tekken series, but virtua fighter . I was hoping it would make its way to 360 but I'll take what I can get. Does anybody have a list of what games will be available at launch. This will also play a major roll in whether I buy one at launch or not.

Nah, no release line up yet. You probably won't know that untill three weeks before the system launch, and then you still might have changing dates.

I'm interested to see what the launch lineup will be like as well, unfortunately I don't think we'll have a reliable idea of what will be there until we get within a month or two of launch. All past console launches have been that way. While I don't remember the projected line up pre-PS2 at this point the 360 was projecting anywhere between 20 and 40 launch titles... and it end up being much closer to 20. Dates get pushed back, games get canceled, sometimes we get suprises... we'v really got to wait and see.

As for 1st and 2nd party titles Sony's demoed almost all of their big gun titles at the last 2 E3s, I highly doubt they'll all be arriving at launch. While it would make for a spectacular launch lineup it'd be a foolish decision overall. As it would create a severe drought of good games in the months following, not to mention 1st wave games arn't nearly as polished as the ones that come out in the 2nd and 3rd wave and that could be damaging to the console's first impressions. Needless to say I'm interested which titles they'll be pushing for launch and which titles they'll be holding off on to release down the road. They've certainly got a lot of IP to work with.

I don't mind waiting that long but they better not rush out games with subtracted features and visuals just to make a quick buck.

I think it really depends on the division of EA... the EA Sports divisiont (particularly the Madden team) is garbage IMO, nothing like having NO competition to encourage you to make a good product...

Burnout Revenge is an AWESOME game though and they even improved the features when porting it to the 360, and I'm pretty keen on the SSX snowboarding series as well (I remember playing the first SSX when it came out on the PS2 for DAYS STRAIGHT... good times).

The upper managment at EA makes some pretty bad decisions but their development staff is so broad it's hard to generalize....

The problem is that your average consumer buys the EA sports games which means that is the majority of what type of games get put into the market place. Ergo (I love that word   ) thats why its so easy for me to generalize EA. Because they refuse to better refine their best selling products

Heretic-666, regardless of what you think you don't have the authority to make "rules" the most you have the authority to do is make suggestions. Several people have commented in this thread (including myself) that aren't planing on buying the console at launch, yet you single out Deftech?

honestly this thread was doing great until you made a stink about nothing.

Also FYI when you click that "REPORT" button it gets sent to all um-teen of the head mods as well as all of the Admins... not just me, most of them would sooner close these threads then mediate this petty BS.

I try to be helpful but if you can't respect the opinions of the other members on these boards then that's your own problem, I'm not about to close threads and remove posts simply because someone doesn't like Sony or Sony's products.

EDIT: Cute, quoting the rules, but they're not applicable to this situation. The topic migrated to EA and Def was responding to that.. If you had such a problem with it going that direction then perhaps you should have brought it up when it first turned that way instead of joining in on the EA comments.

Oh and you seem to have forgot the rule that the rules are all subject to the interpertation of the mods
