It may have taken more than a little time for Polyphony to warm to the idea, but Gran Turismo head Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed that the series is finally going to be implementing damage, saying it could be included as a downloadable feature for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue as early as this Autumn.

Great, maybe they can also fix the framerate then, because now the game totally sucks when more then 3 cars are close and/or driving through dust. Going from 60fps with vsync to 15fps without any vsync kind of sucks when you're trying to get immersed in a driving game. It sucks so much even that I now regret buying GT5P, even though the game is great on most other accounts except the stupidly small selection of tracks.
