Never say never. When the PS3 drops to the $100-$150 range, I'm sure 9 out of 10 who said they'd never get one will go buy one.

Well excuse the hell outta me for forming MY OWN opinion about a product I do not care for (in regards to gaming) from a company I refuse to support.

If I were silly enough to buy an Elite for $450.00 what makes you think I wouln't pay $400.00 for a PS3 if I wanted it bad enough?

You're excused, just don't let it happen again [snicker] j/k

I wasn't trying to say it like that. I was saying that years from now when a PS3 will be sold for between $100 and $150, tons of people who never thought they'd buy one, will buy one. All I'm saying is that whenever it reaches that price threshold (again, years from now), that will overturn a lot of people's negatives (much how the PS2 still manages to sell at $129).

When you're in a situation where you refuse to support the company, however, then the only way I see you ever buying one (for price) would be if it were a used unit (no additional sales numbers to report), and you bought used games.

 Either way.

Why is this arguement even continuing. Crytek is creating FarCry 2 for all three platforms, what makes anyone think that a multi-platform release of Crysis couldn't happen?

From a technological standpoint, it is very possible. On PC you are running a bloated OS and other programs behind the scenes, which consume resources that can not be used by the game. Here's an example. Gears of War is designed for the 360. It uses most likely all of the 512MB of ram, but runs smooth and looks amazing. To get those same results on PC, they recommend 2GB of ram, plus at least 256MB of VRAM. Call of Duty 4 is also around the same.

I think alot people are going to be surprised to see what the two consoles are capable of in the next couple of years in terms of graphics. Just look at APB, GTA 4, GT 5, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MGS 4, Battlefield: Bad Company, etc, etc, etc. The list grows everyday, with every other announcement of a new game.

First and foremost a PC whether a Gaming Rig or just a Fast office or Home Computer is just that... A Computer. If you make it a Gaming Rig, and have quad SLi with Dual/Quad Cores Processors and 4/8GB of Ram its still going to be limited by the OS I.E. Windows XP/Vista. Its not spicifically made to handle games and games only, even if it was beefed up for gaming. Now I think Crysis is very much capable of being made for PS3 or X360. Not ported like alot of you have been saying. WHY... Because both PS3 and X360 are made and enginered for such a thing. Playing Games. The hardware in both consoles are made to work better at playing a game no matter what that game is. Its not rocket science people. Just because PS3 and Xbox 1 can run linux doesn't mean a damn thing. Both those console have differant hardware configureation, ram processing power, and the likes, and thats why those that are loading linux on either of these systems is doing what we call a port. Its reworked to run on said/specific hardware. Has anyone ever run MAC Tiger or Leapord OS on a PC Rig. If you have done this then you would know that this my friends is called a ported OS. The same principles apply to the gaming console. This is why some Game developers make system exclusive games, not becasue they port them but because they rework the whole structure of the game, and actually recode. Its called software development, and its all about which system can perform better with what game. Now that being said, Crysis can run on a PS3. Yes it will run on an X360 because Xbox 360 utilizes DX10. This console has this in mind, and this console was enginered to work optimal with DX10 or DX10 was programed to work with X360 I.E XBox Direct X-Box. With the PS3 a rework would have to be made to accomadate the hardware specs of this system. That means reocoding and actually remaking the game from scratch. A Port is just like running an unstable emulator, and trying to run a game that hasn't be configured to run specific to the hardware. Remember Bleem! Yeah...

Oh it will happen.  PC sales tanked.  It obviously won't be the graphical showcase that it is on upper end gaming PCs, but there's no reason a reasonable port can't be made.

Yer just i wouldn't put it in my console, my PC crysis makes my Liteon drive click like hell (google it) they really fuxed up and I have to buy a new DVD drive just to play it since I don't want it to destroy my £50 sata dvd drive.
