To me it seems like an odd marketing move releasing a, in essence, demo of a game and in fact charging for it. I could understand doing something like the Crackdown/Halo3Beta bundle thing or just releasing the 'demo' as I'm calling it for free over PSN.

I guess I just haven't seen many other cases like this where a company puts so much hype into a demo that they're charging customers for. I haven't seen many cases where a company charges for a demo aswell...

It's not so novel. They charged for Gran Turismo 4 Prologue so while it hasn't been confirmed to cost money it would not be surprising. They are, however, including more than one would expect from just a demo. People should not immediately label it as a demo and assume it should be free. Instead they should look at the features and decide if there would be some sufficient value for this. From the description here there seems to be enough of a game to be worth a small price.

yes lets all buy demos, demos that include 40+ cars a hand full of tracks and full online features.... hmmm wait how many cars/tracks and online features did the forza 2 demo have..... erm yeah this isnt quite a demo stop bashing it because ur 360 over heated

I would definetely buy a demo if it were this big. But not if it has anything to do with Gran Turismo.

It seems like Polyphony Digital just grabbed some stuff from PGR3, and then some stuff from Forza 2 and put them both together. Just IMO.
