According to website Playstation Universe, Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu is reporting a quote from Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto that there will be no playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII or Versus XIII until next year. Square Enix did state however, that video footage of both games will be available later this year, presumably at the Tokyo Game Show.

I really don't understand why FFXIII keeps making news headlines for things like this. FFXII was released in Japan less than a year and a half ago. I don't know why anyone would be expecting a demo of the game at this point.

I don't expect to be playing FFXIII until close to the end of 2009.

That honestly wouldn't surprise me. Though I actually think we might see a winter 08 release in Japan and, hopefully, a spring 09 release in the US.

I can't imagine making a RPG games, the huge world and all, it must a pain in the ass designing everything. And that's just the game... Imagine creating the story and writing all the dialogue!

I would think game developers would enjoy that kind of thing!
