Sony has announced pricing plans for first-party PlayStation 3 titles, revealing that disc-based games will cost EUR 59.99 / GBP 39.99 at launch.

Launch titles will include Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Genji and Ridge Racer 7, plus Formula One Championship Edition. They will cost AUD 99.95 in Australia and NZD 109.95 in New Zealand, where PS3 is also launching on March 23.

By pricing its games at GBP 39.99, Sony is undercutting Microsoft when it comes to first-party titles - Xbox 360 games have an official RRP of GBP 49.99. Games for the Nintendo Wii, however, also cost GBP 39.99.

uuh huuh

"in practice"? is that like "in theory"?

sure alot of games will not be full price, because they have been out for a long time. But new ones will be as high as they can go.

And getting prices off the internet is not exactly the same as retail. Internet sites will cut down the price by 5- 10 GBP just because they can and still make a profit (even though they charge 5 for shipping)

and i have been talking strictly about GBP this eniter time, not EUR.

Awesome for Aus. We are actually paying the equivalent of 89 USD out here for 360 games. At least this is bit more reasonable.

Now all Sony have gotta do is generate some interest in the console. None of my gaming friends are interested in PS3 (or PSP, in fact I'm the only person I know who owns one).

Cheaper games or not, as per the PSP, the PS3 is considered too expensive.
