Japanese developers now know that to make money, they need to get their games to America and Europe. People will say "they need to stay and show support so the japanese developers continue support" I dont know if that makes sense at this point. Its getting to be embarassing for MS over there. The good Japanese developers will support MS no matter what.
User Base is everything and come january/february, if 8 to 10 million 360s are out there compared to 5 million Wiis and 2 to 3 million PS3s, they'd be foolish to skip over the 8 million 360 owners(worldwide mind you).
Look at Capcom, they are huge supporters of the 360 and it has totally flopped in their own territory. Team Ninja? No comment needed. So whos going to say "yeah but what about the little developers?"
WTF about them. If games like Lost Odyssey didnt impress the japanese much(which it didnt compared to Blue Dragon), the lesser known games wont sell a damn thing. Its time to stop embarassing themselves and they need to stop saying publicly that they will win the hearts of japanese gamers. It will Never happen, Thats the reality of it.
They hardly supported the GC, they surely wont support the 360.
At the end of 2005:Japan / AsiaPS2 - 22.83 million
GameCube - 3.98 million
Xbox - 1.97 million
Only double the original Xbox? And Peter Moore has the audacity to think the 360 will make a dent over there? I like the guy but he needs to be slapped around a bit. Like someone said after attending TGS..."MS needs 8 more games like Blue Dragon to even get their console noticed, let alone post impressive sales numbers"
I couldnt agree more. Buy Square and whoever else and it might help
