No Online Play For Virtua Tennis Confirmed
« on: September 27, 2006, 08:32:00 AM »

QUOTE
Sega Europe has confirmed that the PlayStation 3 version of its popular sports title Virtua Tennis 3 does not have any online features.

The news follows developer Neversoft's recent clarification that the PS3 version of upcoming extreme sports game Tony Hawk's Project 8 for Activision will not feature online play.

i know someone on here was questioning if this was true so i thought i would post it.

Now whats troubling is that while THP8 is understandable since it is a launch title, VT is not set to launch until Q207 and it still does not have online play??  this makes me question how far behind sony's online plans really are.

According to sony it does, when they promised their online was fully functional and matches xbox live feature for feature.

Youre missing the point. We arent saying online is everything, but that 2or 3 games in the last 7 days have had their online cut due to sony not getting the info out as to how it will function.

More smoke and mirrors  rolleyes.gif

Not me. I went out and bought the net adaptor with Socom for $30 months before GT4 came out and was very upset when they cut online play. I basically spent $30 for 2 matches of Socom.

Yea I laugh at it to from time to time when I hear Sony making promises. I am just glad I got a deal on them because I would have paid $70 plus tax if I had paid the full retail price.
