if you dont believe what foe-hammer said, because he didnt provide a link   , just watch the sony E306 press conference.  during the GTHD (/joke of a game) presentation they state that the difference in information being presented on the screen (through the resolution) is 12 times between GTHD and GT4 on the ps2.  if GT4 were true 1080i it would be less then 3 times the difference.

just one more, of many, instances sony is lying to you and yet gets caught up in it.  however you wont care or even pay attention to what im saying.  oh and dont expect a link the E306 press conference vid, im sure you can find it yourself.
