my guess would be just the resolution difference as all of the other effects are of the same level. i know all but 3 games on the ps3 run at 720p but many are shooting for 1080i, so maybe that is where the sharpness lies.

But 1080i isnt necessarily better than 720p

I thought ALL PS3 games would be capable of 1080p? Wasn't this what the Sony guys were banging on about before E3? Maybe I've been missing something. I just kept up with Info I came by and was trying to take an interest. I'm almost certain I remember reading something about 1080p and also dual displays.

Did plans change somewhere before E3 and I missed it or was it all marketing crap?

I am honestly looking forward to the launch to see how sony handles the many problems. we all know damn well they wont be overnighting boxes to people and replacing them like MS did/does.
