Replacing Harddrive To A 320 Gig. (tsop Xbox)
« on: December 08, 2007, 10:42:00 AM »

Hey all I have a 2002 xbox that has been tsop flashed. With Xecuter 2 bios I don't remember which number it was I used the one Slushie's tsop tutorial said to use. It's been to long to remember which bios number was it anyway. Well I've had a 250 gig in there for the last 3 years and now it's going out. So I wanted to upgrade anyway since I have to replace the harddrive to a 320 Western Digital. I just bought it off about two months ago. It is brand new. Anyway I formatted my harddrive with xboxhd and used my preexisting dashboard and stuff from my last harddrive and carried over the C and a few files of E. Anyway So I hooked the harddrive up to my xbox and to my suprise I only had about 137 or something in the area of that on my harddrive for F. So I am very puzzeled because I"m missing about half the harddrive space (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So I was wondering if I need to do something else maybe use the 2.7 slayers or something. My xboxhd if I'm correct has been up to date. I even used the same program to format my old 250. Anyway I"ve never encountered this problem for I usually have only installed 250 or below nothing over that so that's the reason why I would be asking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I use Unleashed X as my main dash and I enabeled G drive because I was thinking maybe something is missing but when I enable G all that happens is that it shows I have no space. I really don't mind if I have to break it up into E F & G or just E & F I just want to use my harddrive to it's full potiental (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Anyway if someone could help me out I'd greatly appreciate it. If anyone has any ideas or anything (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) thanks in advance.

A BIOS can only be stored in a modchip or TSOP, and those can only store BIOS files. There's no point in getting a small BIOS unless 1) you want to use more then one or 2) your chip won't take a larger one. That is to say, your BIOS doesn't take up HDD space.

Why would reformatting the drive give you more space?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)  If you're absolutely certain you're not getting as much as you should, by all means try loading XBPartitioner when you've got the BIOS sorted out and see if you can get it to allocate more. I think you'll find it won't.
