Solid State Xbox Hdd

This seems feasible but rather expensive for just playing around...

1) Compact Flash to IDE converter...$20
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822998002
2) 8GB Flash Card...$30 - $50

Cost could be cut down *if* we could use a smaller CF card.

Question...Anyone know of a way to repartition the XBOX1 HDD so the E Drive isn't so but.  Who really needs 4.8+- GB for XBMC...

typical    want - XBOX HDD partitions
c:   499    499
e: 4881    914
f:       -        -
x:   749    749
y:   749    749
z:   749    749
----------------
    7627  3660

Basically I'm looking to build a silent XBOX...Remove HDD, remove optical, remove fans, alter case to make lower 1/2" - 3/4".

Thoughts?

CF = Slow. It'd probably take over a minute just to boot up if you're using XBMC as your dashboard. That's roughly how long it takes to boot that dash from CD.

No, you can't use non-standard sizes for the default partitions unless you're gonna flash with Cromwell (ie. use the box only for Linux).

Taking out all the cooling fans will kill your system. There's a PSU, GPU and CPU in there. Plus, things'll only get hotter if you're want to shrink the case.

If you can lock a CF card, go for it, like the other guy said it will probably be really slow.

Though it would be very neat to see a Uber slim slimbox.
