Upgrading My Old Hard Disk
« on: December 04, 2007, 02:49:00 AM »

Hi,
first of all I'm using a very old Version of EvolutionX Dashboard and an old Matrix Mod Chip, but the newest Version of XBMC is still running so no problem.
So my problem is, i was thinking about installing a new ~500GB HDD and would like to know if I need a new Mod Chip for >137GB support or is there a way to upgrade/flash whatever my old chip as i dont think it has support for greater hard drives.

greetings

Upgrading My Old Hard Disk

Ok so basically I first get the disk to run with Slayers and do the fine tuning (formatting) with XBPartitioner later?

Ok i really flashed M8_16 (only found the M8 Version for 1.6 but it works so what ^^ Checked it with BiosChecker)

But when i try to open the Bios with EVTool I cant really change anything (all greyed out)
the drop down menu under lba48 support says: Partition 6 Takes up to 137GB / 7 takes rest...
and Ignore Hard Drive Partition Table is not checked.

Well if all fails isn't it possible to create several smaller partitions?

Thanks so far ^^
