Interesting ... so MS use P2P for Games and Dedicated Servers for Movies, Sony use P2P for Movies and Dedicated Servers for Games ... laugh.gif

Hmm, not sure this is a good move - I think MS have it the right way around.. (well dedicated gaming servers would be better).  You certainly don't want somebody using your upload bandwidth when you're trying to game online - that's the one area where we all need extra capacity (talking ADSL here..)...  And do people really leave their PS3 on when they've done for the session ?

Can't see why they can't provide dedicated servers - if people are paying for the movies, then factor in this into the cost.... ?

Wait... is this saying that users might be able to share media directly with each other?  I don't see how something like that could have ever gotten approval from Hollywood.  There is a piece of the puzzle missing in this rumor.... namely DRM.

There is no DRM violation in using P2P. It can still be a pay service, and tracked. It just gets you the movies faster. Especially with the redundancy of 1,000s of copies available to source from.

I am guessing users cannot add media, only Sony with Hollywood approved videos.

P2P != stealing
