I had a question for anyone familiar with ICS. When XP boots and sees ICS on a network does it default to trying to connect to the net using it?
Here is what I have 2 computers and the Xbox. Everything is hooked into a SOHO hub. I pay for a second IP and everything works great, sort of. The Xbox is talking to ICS and can get out to the net. The problem is when I reboot the second system it's not pulling an IP from the ISP it seems to be trying to connect via ICS to the net which is what I don't want it to do because I have an IP. The secondary system is setup for "Obtain IP" & "DNS" because the ISP uses dynamic IP's there is no way to simply enter the IP's direct.
Fixing it, I could buy a router, leave it by booting both computers getting an IP from the ISP then connecting the ICS nic or setup ICS for the secondary system. I am just curious to know, if ICS is setup that everything on the network needs to use it for net access.
Thanks!
