Wii Vs Xbox1 Homebrew
« on: April 20, 2008, 01:14:00 PM »

Hello, i already have a unmodded xbox1, and planning to get a wii, also a 360.. Want one machine to play all of my old classics, from nes, snes, 64 and genesis.. what would be the best one to do it with? I think i would like to have them all on the wii, but will that ever be as great as it was on the xbox?

The Wii is catching up pretty fast. Recently there has been a ton of advancements in the homebrew scene. I would say the Xbox still has the advantage though.

Check out http://nintendo-scene.com/ cause there have seriously been about 5 or 6 homebrew programs and emulators released today.

Not bad

Is N64 far away? What about light gun on each of the consoles?

I personally haven't read anything about N64, but I don't see why it wouldn't eventually be just as good if not better than Xbox1 support.

I think you made the right choice going with the Wii. It was just recently hacked, and new stuff is snowballing. This weekend was the best weekend yet.

Even if you did want multimedia capabilities, the Wii has some. Mplayer works on the Wii and that is the same video system that XBMC uses. While there is no package as polished and neat as XBMC, the Wii scene is still young.

yea the wii scene is booming like crazy...i seriously cant keep up...i just got the twilight princess hack to work and now theres like a million homebrew channels i can INSTALL on the system...emulators, homebrew games, such such...wii homebrew ftw.

dont even try to get 360 homebrew...its too hard, i have a 360 that i use for linux and i think it was a waste of money...its like a computer BIG WHOOP...i cant even play games on it. with the wii you can update completelly and still get all your homebrew joy.

For right now. There are some strong rumors pointing to Nintendo fixing some holes in the future. Especially with IOS37.

PSX maybe, Dreamcast no. There is an N64 emulator already available.

Here is a list of emulators available right now.

Make sure the game save you loaded is for the correct version of your Zelda. It isn't only region coded but also version number.
