Need Help Determining If My Wii Is Fixable
« on: March 14, 2008, 11:12:00 AM »

I recently tried modding the nintendo wii d2c console with a d2pro. After installation I went to turn on the system on to discover that the wii was shorting. I found the bridge that was causing the problem and cleaned it up. The system runs fine until I go to try and put a disc in or go to a channnel on the menu. If I put a disc in the dvd drive it spins and sounds like it is going to read, but unfortunatly gives me the "Disc Read Error and tells me to eject and unplug the power to restart". I tried detatching the d2c drive and it does the same thing. I think its sometihng on the wii mother board but I have no clue.
I also tried reformating the system memory but that as well failed to change any results.

When I go to a channel, for instance mii channel, it will play the music and look like it is working but when the song goes to the end, it just goes to a black screen. The Wii remote loses signal but power is still to the console. Only way to power off is to unplug the cable from the power supply. As of right now there is no chip installed I removed everything from the dvd drive.

When installing the d2pro I used alternate install points.

If anyone has any idea of seeing if it could be just sometihng else other then the dvd drive?

Thankyou biggrin.gif
