So after more and more research I have realized that the Wii I have which I purchased less than two weeks ago has different casing surrounding the heat sink than the previous Wiis. My Wii also has the D1A chip on the drive as discussed elsewhere on the forums and it handles the Argon just fine as a sidenote.

Anyways I found the right location for my piece and it's right below the fan, as confirmed graciously by dCiSo. I'm attaching a picture of the place it goes and then another picture of my Wii versus the Wii found on the disassembly tutorial over at http://www.xbox-modc...embly-guide.htm
