the blocked holes below the feet

IPB Image

this one was half filled

IPB Image

the holes after drilling, the tri holes are still filled with the compound this is making the scre impossible to remove as the grabit bits dont reach that far

Here is a very detailed disassembly guide.

http://www.xbox-modc...embly-guide.htm

If you look at this picture specifically you should notice that the holes/poles that are filled with glue on your Wii aren't too close to the motherboard. I mean the poles in each of the corners.

Just use a drill that doesn't exceed the diameter of the (glued) holes and drill through them.

You should be fine.

I hope that helps somehow.

Sorry for my bad english, im from Germany an i'm not too good at describing things.
But you should get the point.

Thats a good idea i think, just drill the top of the screw heads of!, then be careful as they/he might have glued the side of the case together!

That is some crazy stuff!  In anycase, I guess the insides seem okay.  I would get a different case though (so your Wii can look nice).

From what I can see of the drive, you do not need a replacement. Your modder did not cut those legs. They came like that. It looks like he attempted to shave the chip to expose the legs a little bit, and just gave up.

You just need to solder your chip right to the stubs. Each leg has a corresponding pad. Whatever pad you were supposed to solder to for your chip, just solder right to the leg stub instead. It takes a little skill and your guy should have easily been able to do it.

Wow, this is just the lowest of the low. Glad to see you got it open though.
Does/did it still play originals? If it did it can still be modded. Not sure if I could do it or not by looking at the pictures though. It's not like it's a d2c so I don't understand why the guy had such a hard time.

id rather not ebay it, as in my opinion its not in fit state to sell on. i know i coould but selling things when i know they are not 100% give me sleepless nights.

ive had look on ebay and there 2 types of drives available

D2B version

or

DMS/Early version

can any drive be used or would it have to be the same version with the same chip? and do wii drives need to be firmware flashed liek 360 drives?

Atleast it still works!!

It looks as if he has melted the chip not shaved some of ?

Good luck !

Don't blame yourself.  You paid for a service, not only was that service not rendered but they damaged your Wii, lied about it, and tried to cover their tracks.  Isn't there a forum here where you can post reviews of people you have dealt with?  Cause this guy's name needs to be out there so he can be avoided.  The guy should have just told you he couldn't mod it and sent it back.  What you have there is just malicious.
