If You Format Your Wii, Do You Lose Your Virtual Games

Picked up a used Wii and plan to give it to my little brother.  It's used so it has a handful of Virtual games downloaded onto it already.  I wanted to format the wii so that it would be as close to new as possible when he got it.  Only I don't want to lose the virtual games in the process.

So basically, if I can format it and retain the virtual games, that would be awesome.  If it deletes the virtual console games in the process, I'll have to go through and delete everything individually.  So, anyways, does anyone know if the virtual console games are deleted when you format your wii in the settings menu?
