Position Of Gears On Right Side Of Dvd Drive
« on: November 14, 2007, 11:03:00 PM »

I just have a quick question about the positioning of the gears in the dvd drive.

My wii was making big scratches all the way around disks and when i opened it up to fix it i think i dropped one of the gears. The gears im talking about is on the right side of the dvd drive (looking at it from the front).

Does anybody know how many gears there are supposed to be and in what position they are in? Or does anybody have a picture that i can see?

I would start by looking at some guides for disassembling a wii. You may find a pic with what your looking for.

Here's the best shot I could get.

Looks like there are 4 gears.

UPDATE: After days of searching I've finally found the missing gear. Now I still can't get it to work. It will load the disk every time I try, but it will only eject once. So far anything I've done regarding the wii has ended with a failure (except putting in a modchip). I can't even get the screws back in because I'm so frustrated.

Do you repair wii's SICKdemension so I can send it to you, or does anybody know where I can send it. I guess I got to keep myself to xbox modding from now on  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Sorry, I can't help you out. Maybe someone at nintendo-scene.com does repairs.
