ok here it is, ive been looking around and so far this is the chip to buy for me atleast. I really had my heart set on wiifree but since there are no sellers in the US i decided to look into other chips and since this chip can have other firmware on it i thought this was a good choice. just wondering if this is a good choice or not?

the process for flashing the chip differs from programmer to programmer and changes depending on the software you use to flash it. So once you buy (or build) a programmer and find software that's compatible with your programmer you should look up instructions for that.

it's pretty damn easy though. I have a USB programmer from microchip themselves (it's an expensive $50 one) and it came with it's own software.

I basically stick the chip in the programmer, plug the programmer in, open the software, File->open the .hex firmware file and then click the big "WRITE" button  laugh.gif

a status bar will pop up and let me know when it's done (usually takes about 3 seconds).

I would imagine it's not much different with other programmers/software.
