You definitely need a triwing.  Appleguru ( http://www.otbmods.com/ ) sells them.  So far all NA consoles are mod-able.

I thought the newer wii's had 3 of the pins removed from the board so you couldnt solder in a chip...

Apparently Nintendo is starting to cut 3 IC legs on (some of?) the newly produced wiis to hinder modding. While I haven't seen any like this yet, there are reports of such wiis in the US.

As for the board revision missing pad # 3, that appears to only have been released in Japan and Europe.

In any case, I do several wii mods a day and I've yet to see either of these 'revisions', so chances are you'll be fine. You do still need a triwing however wink.gif

You can also try to make your own.  There are instructions on the chiip site: http://chiip.descram...hp/Make_Triwing
good luck if you try it

I made a much better one from a T10 torx driver, just grind off 3 of the points till you get a triangle, then using the corner of a file, cut the reliefs in the sides of the triangle, no need to even make it pointy.  Kinda ghetto but at least it looks better than that diagram.
