Ok, I have a sammy SVG-605B Ver.B in my xbox, recently it started to only read cd and not dvd.  

From what I read it is a lens issue, so I went and purchased a SOH-D16 replacement lens, however upon plugging it in, there is nothing.  It won't even read CD, so I just take out the top and left the magnetic think is see what is going on.

On my old CD only lens, the disc will spin full speed upon insert of the disc, but if it is a DVD it will eventually stop.  If there is no disc, you will see a red beam coming out of the lens, and the spindler try to spin once or twice.

On the new lens, the disc spin about 90 degrees and pause, do another 90 degrees and stop, if there is no disc in there, all you see is the lens move up and down and then up again, but no read beam at all.  So What is going on?

I tested the lens on friend's system, the lens works...

So What could it be any help will be great, thanks

So this anti-static point only affected the lens when you used it with your system, and not when you used it with your friends?
