The past two nights I just installed a Wiikey and a Wiinja. The Wiikey is by far easier to install, not difficulty just time wise. I am starting to get a lot of requests around here to do installs, I want to suggest the Wiikey but I can't find any great information whether one is any way better then the other.

 Wiifree boots GC and GC homebrew.  No Audio Stream Fix as of current though.  Also boots +/- R.  And has region patching on chip.

Wiikey is the best answer for a retail chip.  However, Wiinja V2 is actually pretty decent and much easier to produce by Factories and hobbyists alike.

I'm still in the process of building the chart... it's missing a few of the other open source chips.

Also some of the info might be incorrect, I took everything from the actual chip websites (where available) and anything that wasn't listed as a feature I'd assumed it didn't have.

You can see that some "features" like stealth mode are total crap... all drive mods are stealth mode  

Also the disc support for certain chips might be mis-represented.... while some where honest about requiring a swap to boot others claimed support but only had partial support.

So your mileage may vary but it's a good start, and once I've got the base done I'm putting it on wiki-scene

I had a hard time finding reliable WiiFree info but the info I did have basically pointed to those features not currently implimented but coming in the next release.

similarly the next Chiip release is speculated to be including DVD upgrade support as well as the audio fix, -RW support and all around more stable gameplay (FMV was apparently jittery on some games).

As for 'retail' chips, I'm personally partial to the wiikey myself, due to a) ease and speed of install and B ) feature set and c) the fact that you can actually get them

Not yet, they've advertised it a bit, and they have a website ( http://wiixt.vze.com/ ) Nothing has been officially released yet.

Max Console has gone on record calling it a fake (though it's all speculation)

Personally I don't see why you couldn't have a chip act like a DVD player, it's not impossible, very difficult yes, but not impossible.

I ordered the stuff to make a Wii Free....at $2.00 a chip I can't see why I would go with any other chip
