I just got my WiiKey in the mail and I seem to be having some fitment issues. It does not see to be fitting properly. Point number 6 does not match Properly and it seems if I tried to solder it it would cover some traces. If anyone has a picture of their wiikey installed it would be appreciated.

I chipped my Wii yesteday with the WiiKey. After looking at it for a while I was afraid to try to quicksolder, so I did wires instead.

It was surprising easy, just use electrical tape to take the chip in place before you start.

This is a common problem with so far as I know all wiikey's. People have been doing wire installs because of it.

Depending on if you already soldered the other points you could use a small wire, or leg of an led and solder from the pad at an angle down to your point. I say go with the wire install if you can.

i agree with the wire install. at some point in the future you will want to remove the wiikey and replace it with something better (assuming there is something better than dvd drive mods in our future). Wire install is easy to remove, but if you use the 'quicksolder method' it's bitch to take out. Think about the future man!!!

I went for the quick solder myself and it works great, it maybe harder to take out compared to a wire install but it won't be that big of a challenge and ill cross that bridge when i get to it but for now i am very happy with the quick solder install(after all thats how it was designed how to be installed) I took a quick Picture of the ship installed the quality isn't the best but i thought id post it.

ill admit mine isn't as pretty as apple guru's but it does the job and you can't see it anyway

nice to see abit of flux at work there, thats what solder should look like, almost as if they would roll tgether to make a T1000 terminator (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
