Sketchup Models Of Wii And Base
« on: February 25, 2007, 02:38:00 PM »

This is my first use of sketchup. i just downloaded it two days ago and this is my first project. i have never used a cad program before which goes to show how incredibly simple google's sketchup is....

these models were made from a real wii (not from pictures) i used a ruler and a protracter so all the measurements are an accurate representation of the wii.. even spacing between buttons and degree tilt of the wii are accuratly portrayed...

so anyway maybe someone will have a use for them and if that is the case i will upload the sketchup files to this thread

p.s. the only real thing that is not represented here are the rounded feet on the left side of the wii... i just couldn't figure out a good way of doing it...

I love SketchUp, it's so simple!  I haven't used it in ages though.  That's some nice work!

i saw someone make a post with a model of a possible plexiglass case in the 360 case modding section... i have known about sketchup for a while but i never tried it... when i saw the post i had an itch to try it...

i was going to make a 360 but it seemed to hard for my first project...

thanks for the praise... it sure did take a while ( my whole demo time (8 hours) although i wasn't working the whole time, i forgot to close if for a couple of hours)

and for why... it was really just i wanted to see what the program was...i started making the wii, couldn't stop until i had everything perfect.  then figured i would post them here cause someone might appreciate them

that is awesome!
this is helpful when choosing dif colors and stuff to throw on the system (kinda like the thing at sick's webside but in 3d)

by any chance do you have a way of uploading the scketch up files and giving us a link?

really nice work!
