Wiimote Repair Guide?
« on: February 18, 2007, 08:31:00 PM »

Oh, and where can I buy the little screwdriver for the Wiimote?  It's not the nutdriver kind, but the tri-wing screw.  What are those type called?

the screwdrive you're looking for is in fact called a triwing, you can find them online

this might sound really stupid and i don't mean any offence by saying this, but have you tried changing the batteries?

The exact same thing just happend to me! I can't figure out what's going on with my wiimotes! Both of them!
Today I just picked up my wiimote, turned it on from a good distance, (I wasn't watching it, I was just..blah, y'know.) Selected the exact same game, Zelda, and pressed start, and it began. After picking up my other wiimote and stashing it with my other assecories the start thingy was on and I pressed the b+a and nothing happened! I tried again and again and nothing! I changed the batteries with 3 different pares and couldn't get anything...I'm so bummed I can't do anything! UGH! WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Not the most recently replied to topic i know, but this happened to my fiancee's wii aswell.

The console itself appeared to be functioning fine, would load games etc and boot to the main menu, resync didn't do a thing, because you basically couldn't. Swapping batteries made no odds, although i knew this wasn't the problem in the first place.

Next step i simply unplugged the power cable from the back of the wii for 5 minutes and plugged it back in, powered on resynced the controllers and its been fine ever since.

I think the console needed a 'reset' obviously it had crashed somehow on the RF side of things, i assume this remains active even when the power is off to receive the power on signal from the wii mote, so i'd guess it had crashed causing these issues.

Might be worth while taking note of if nothing else works beerchug.gif

Heck when my Wiimote tilt functionality stopped working I called them they had me smack it (button side, like you'd slap a ruler in your hand) and it started working again... thanks for the heads up on the disconnecting power of the console.. if i get this problem I'll try that first.

when u change the batteries u dont need to resync.. however like they have been saying unplug for 30seconds apparently the wii thinks that there already is a 1st person wiimote connected so it wont recognize the one in ur hand and the crude reset fixes it...

Well tsantsa your post was kinda vauge but I had the exact same problem as Dano2k0, and can confirm it works.

I thought it was the remote but then the second one didn't work either, I un-plugging the Wii from the wall and then no problems.
