The Wii uses an LG GDR style drive, which is why some other GDR series dvd-roms, can read the disc with the proper software.
Would be great though, but i jus dont see it anytime soon.
i mean the GDR drives are like $20, and no where near as hard to find as the samsung drive, so really you cant go wronge with the drive
