even still, the chip is legit. and I'm excited that there's some Wii modchips in the wild now because frankly I need something to with my Wii to make up for the lack of good games availble

Sounds like you might wanna hold off on ordering your modchip if you have a newer Wii... ones sold late Januare have a different chipset which doesn't work with the "existing" modchips. *oops*

Glad I got a launch Wii! Everyone else with newer Wii's is going to have to wait for an updated version of the chip.

I'm stoked that it's been announced the chip was upgradeable, sounds like my chip of choice for the moment.

It's funny though cause over on GBA temp it's nothing but crying cause you have the OPTION to solder on a switch, otherwise you can just not upgrade it (Without opening the console). Everyone is bitching because they think the feature is stupid, and requires you to punch a hole in your Wii, it's optional. I don't see how so many people could totally be pissed because they have an extra free optional way to upgrade a 1st gen chip.
