-Optional chip disable wire
- Quicksolder (no wires required)

that's al the pro's comparing to the wiinja(who needs a led anyway blink.gif )

but it is bigger, though it is designed to fit in the wii with wuiksolder i prefer wiring. the wiinja chip can be locked away easely, this will be a bigger problem.

but if it's upgradeable i would defenitly buy this one, if not i wait for comparisons and probally go for the wiinja

This is exciting news!  Here's my take.

- Quicksolder (no wires required)
This will make for a nice clean install, flush with the PCB, with no worrying about pinching wires, etc.  Of course, you could still use wires if you really wanted!

- Plays Wii Backups
- Plays GC Backups
Of course...

- Play GC Homebrew
I didn't see this mentioned for the Wiinja... This is VERY welcome.

- Play GC Imports (swap needed)
smile.gif

- Built-in Audiofix (GC games using streaming are working flawlessly, no patch needed)
As mentioned, a must-have.

- DVD-R / DVD+R support

- Optional chip disable wire
- Stealth even when chip is enabled
Also very welcome features, not listed as Wiinja features

- Multi-purpose LED
Why not?  It may help with installation/troubleshooting...

I see the Wiinja as a proof-of-concept; code in a PIC...  the Cyclowiz sounds like a winner...

No wires... for me this is a HUGE disadvantage....

You cant upgrade the chip so when another , better code arrives with more features... and you try to desolder the chip from the pcb and you end up screwing your wii , you will think twice before use this no wire solution...

I prefer wires, as i myself already installed the socket so i can put the pic when the hex is released

Why can't you use wires, who's to stop your from just soldering wires to the chip instead of soldering it directly to the motherboard. I don't see this as a disadvantage at all! You now have the choice while the wiinja does not give you that choice!

Can someone explain quickly to me what the quicksoldering is? At first I thought you dont solder maybe just clip it in. But now from context it sounds like it might just fit perfectly but you still solder it? sad.gif

Kind of hard to explain...but it's like the contact points on the Wii line up with the contact points on the chip. So you just add a dab of solder and connect the two points together. The pcb lies flush, so the only thing bridging the wii and the chip is solder. It's quick since you can just lie the chip down and poke it a few times with your soldering iron.

Thanks for the clarification. I was also confused.

Yeah agree on wii-scene. Max-console seems horribly biased towards Cyclowiz its really disgusting, have a hard time believing anything they say now.

You might as well start making your wii backups now. They take forever to make.  blink.gif
