Wii Controller Mod (pt. 2)

Very nice once again. How easily to the remotes disassemble? Does it have snaps that you have to pry and possibly leave marks on?

There are 4 screws in the 'rear' of the remote. 2 on the very bottom, 2 inside the battery cover. There are 2 clips in the front that hold it tightly and those can easily break. If you have grossly long fingernails you can open it without breaking them, or if you dont mind 1 little scuff mark on 1 side.

Ty for the comment biggrin.gif

Would it be possible to get a walkthrough or diagrams of what you did?

Perhaps info on where you sourced your parts from, as well?

I'd love to do this to my Wiimotes.

Thanks

If I plan to do another wiimote I will do a writeup.

I can fix that for you.

after a little investigation it appears the amount of leds lighting up refers to the amount of charge in the batteries.

so whats to fix?

@ Sir Crx
Well that looks like I have a 0.01% change of not leaving a indent. I guess I can work with those numbers. I have a feeling I am soooo going to do this. WHat kind of LEd's can I use? I have a feeling 3mm are to big and I gota use surface mount? JW becuase I already have a few green 3mm LED's laying around I can use and I can sue my moms digi camera to take pics.

ok, I demand you tell me how to do it/show me pictures of the inside/write a tutorial right now. Why? Because I'm hella bored and feel like modding something. And this mod looks pretty fun. I have a bunch of SMDs on me..so get to it budd  biggrin.gif

If I could edit my post I would put them back up with them rehosted. I guess for now goto maxconsole or youtube. You guys are cool here and appreciate a mod on any level. Here are the links:

Hmm do you think there would be any points in the classic controller to light it up? I wouldn't mind making the clear buttons light of green smile.gif I wish some of the buttons on the nunchuk could be clear sad.gif

It may be that the 'chuk doesn't pull much power from the Wiimote, and putting LEDs in may not be possible.

On that note, has anyone mapped the pinout of the Wiimote port?
