Xbox Hdd Failed (soft Mod)
« on: October 26, 2007, 07:36:00 PM »

Hey guys,

My second xbox (org) hdd has failed.  I have one hard modded one which has been working none stop for me.  However my soft mod consoles hdd failed on me some time ago.  Are my only options to buy a new mobo and matching hdd?  I have the org hdd, but the hdd that failed was my 120 I had put in.  The org hdd is working.  However I put it in and it doesnt load the dash still gives me a 07 error.  Thought that might work but maybe its got something to do with the eeprom?  Thanks

07 means the drive isn't connected correctly (check the connections and sockets on the cable, drive and motherboard) or it's toast.

A chip will let you use any drive with the box, but you can also lock a new drive using XBoxHDM (free) and your EEPROM.

You do back up your consoles EEPROMs, right? If not, an EEPROM reader should still allow you to salvage this one.

check the jumpers on your HDD, error 07 can be caused by a wrongly jumpererd HDD. your xbox might think there is not HDD present, which will give you 07
