I haven't been able to play it at a real theater, but we've been commandeering one of the local librarie's theaters when we can. Maybe it's that big but I don't know for sure. Maybe I'll ask the tech that helps us out that is sympathetic to our cause next time how big it is. I'll try to take pictures next time too ^^

why waste the time any money... the lights are off 99.9% of the time down there.

besides if I were going to do a wall treatment I'd cover them in black felt  muhaha.gif

Black felt might actualy look good! It would be like a movie theatre.

True. They are big (about 30 inches long, I think...). But it is a great way to have a huge screen, good quality and spend very little on it.

HA... not likely

Have you ever tried building a projector before? I built one back in college, it's not easy..

First off expect to spend months on the project unless you have no other social convictions such as a job, school, or family life.

Second expect to spend at least a few hundred on good tools unless you already have access to a machine/wood shop

Third expect the projector to either cost you a few hundred dollars and be total crap quality, or cost you the same as a real projector and perform about the same while taking up about 20x the physical space.

The only decent quality home make projectors I've seen ran the bill up into the thousands, they required months of time, and unlimited access to highly specialized tools.

Building your own projector should only be approached as a challenge, it's not a cheap or high quality alternative.
