I really hate wireless networking.

I hear that. It's a steaming pile. Wires FTW!

i used to have a dlink that gave me problems with my psp, nieces ds, and my laptops. got a linksys and all works well, even if all on at once.

im guessing you have a decent router anyways.. at least its working now smile.gif

Yeah I don't use any d-link stuff... all of my network equipment is Linksys

I wouldn't call it "working" just not giving me any more problems in the store or forecast channel, it still took over an hour to perform the update  dry.gif

I'm scared to attempt a game download.

Is your internet connection going directly into the wireless router or does it go into something else first and then into your wireless router?  My router is upstairs in my room and the wii is in the basement. Mine did not auto update as well but when i tried the update first it would not connect, i tried again and it took about 30 min to finish the update.  I have my wireless set up with the SSID broadcasting turned off, have wep enabled, and have it give set as static ip addressing.

You may wanna check over your network and make sure there isnt a conflicting ip address or anything along that nature that could be causing issues. Sometimes i start fresh and just go step by step with all my networking stuff and hooke them up one at a time.
